Some Things About Me
As you have probably gathered I really enjoy what I do. I don't really consider myself an artist, although thats something I'm working on. I received my design education from La Roche College in PIttsburgh. Fortunately I spent a semester studying design and traveling in London. It was the best few months of my life so far. I actually got to hold a sketch by Michelangelo. It was remarkable.
Where I've Worked
I started my career designing for American Eagle Outfitters. I worked on direct mail catalogs, shopping bags, gift cards, store graphics, you name it. It was great. After some time, I was offered a job as a Junior Art Director at Roberts Communications. My curiosity led me away from "design" and into the advertising world. Once I finished The Idea Book for Homer Laughlin, I felt the need for change and fortunately for me, sunKING was hiring. That was where my digital career began. I learned so much from the magically creative people there and the world class brands we partnered with. It was hard to leave, but now I am an Interactive Designer at Elliance. I am working with more great people and taking some time to explore things on my own. I'm creating some Flash installations and an iPhone app is on the horizon. I'd have to say, so far, so good.
Technical Stuff
It's surprising to me that people must talk about the software they know. Software fluency is something I think should be a given, but for the sake of conversation, I know Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, a basic knowledge of After Effects and I've done a bit in Final Cut. When it comes to developing I know HTML and CSS pretty well. I'm fair with AS3. I read and understand Javascript and some PHP. I studying Processing and OpenFrameworks, the basics of OOP which leads to Java and C++. Regular expressions, I'll draw the line there.
